As a professional pilot, I’ve had the privilege of embarking on numerous exciting journeys. Today, I invite you to join me on an extraordinary flight from Rome to Tivat, Montenegro. Our destination, the picturesque coastal town of Budva awaits. So fasten your seatbelts and let’s take flight!
Departure from Rome
Our adventure begins in Rome. As we approach our Controlled Take Off Time (CTOT), we request engine start and enroute clearance with the airport’s Ramp Control. With clearance, we gracefully take to the skies, leaving the eternal city’s iconic landmarks behind. As we ascend, the mesmerizing sight of Rome’s architectural wonders slowly fades, and we’re treated to breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coastline.
En Route to Montenegro
During our flight, we soar above the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea, catching glimpses of charming coastal towns along the way. The journey is nothing short of enchanting. This is a repositioning leg and so we don’t have any passengers to brief for arrival.
As we approach Montenegro’s airspace, the clear blue sky allows for a “visual” approach into the airfield. A click, click sounds as I disconnect the autopilot and auto throttles and I hand fly the around the terrain for an easy landing into the welcoming arms of Montenegro. The landing in Tivat is both smooth and exhilarating. As the runway approaches, the panorama of Montenegro’s majestic mountains juxtaposed against the sparkling Adriatic Sea unfolds before us. The sight is truly awe-inspiring.
Tivat is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, and it never fails to captivate those arriving.
Unwinding in Budva at TQ Hotel Plaza
After a short drive through the hills from Tivat, we arrive in Budva, a town steeped in history and surrounded by captivating beaches. Nestled along the coast, the TQ Hotel Plaza stands tall, offering a luxurious and comfortable abode for our stay.
The hotel’s warm hospitality and breathtaking views of the Adriatic make it an ideal retreat for travelers seeking relaxation and indulgence. After a day of flying, there’s no better place to unwind than at this haven by the sea.
Exploring Budva and Beyond
With an overnight stay before our return flight, we take the opportunity to explore Budva’s narrow cobblestone streets and historic landmarks. From the medieval Old Town with its fortified walls to the vibrant nightlife along the Riviera, Budva offers a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
Our journey from Rome to Tivat, Montenegro, has been a spectacular experience, enriched by the breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality of this Adriatic gem. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or a wanderlust enthusiast, Montenegro’s allure promises an unforgettable adventure.
